Jackson Fork Ranch
ESTATE MANAGER
The Jackson Fork Ranch is seeking an Estate Manager to provide leadership to the Lodge and Main Campus areas of the property. The Estate Manager will be expected to cultivate and grow a service-oriented team. He/she is responsible for the day-to-day management of the property and its staff with accountability for planning, organizing and directing all services to the family residing there.
JOB DUTIES
Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.
Leadership
• Projects an enthusiastic, optimistic, helpful attitude to guests, staff and colleagues.
• Speaks positively of the property, the owners, staff, and guests and within the local community.
• Takes immediate actions on problems that are encountered at the property.
• Represents the property in the market and develops relationships with key suppliers.
• Answers questions about the property policies and services.
Human Resources
• Promotes teamwork and develops strong morale.
• Directs and assists staff as needed.
• Ensures the proper recruiting, interviewing, screening, reference checking, and hiring procedures are followed.
• Provides staff with the tools they need to perform their jobs.
• Interviews new personnel and makes hiring recommendations to the principal.
• Ensures staff members follow policies and procedures.
• Takes corrective action if necessary.
• Recognizes staff for demonstrating outstanding service initiatives with guests and colleagues.
• Provides training and monitoring of staff.
• Plans work schedules for individuals and teams.
• Evaluates staff performance on an annual basis.
Financial
• Responsible for generating the property annual budget and monitors profit and loss statement in order to keep costs and expenses in line.
• Sets sales and profit targets and ensures budgeted revenues and profits are achieved.
• Manages budgets and financial plans.
• Maintains statistical and financial records.
• Reviews and approves all operating expenses.
• Develops requests and budgets for capital expenditure projects.
• Oversees and solves issues with the implementation of capital expenditure projects.
• Researches, assesses and recommends equipment, materials, and supplies needed for the operation of the property.
• Approves requisitions of equipment, materials, and supplies within limits of the approved budget.
• Performs other tasks as necessary in order to achieve the financial performance and goals of the organization.
Administration
• Ensures accurate records of necessary federal, state, and local reports as required by the applicable laws and standard operating procedures.
• Knows, and amends as necessary, safety, security, fire prevention, and emergency procedures.
• Knows, and amends as necessary, the Property Standard Operating Procedures.
• Responsible for sanitation standards via monthly inspections of guest cabins, public areas, grounds, storage/work areas and all kitchen areas.
• Ensures that preventative maintenance programs are completed on schedule and meet quality standards.
• Ensures that energy conservation programs are in place.
• Responsible for reservations and credit card systems.
• Develop strategic and tactical plans and the accompanying financial plans that accomplish the vision and long term objectives of the owner.
• Plans, develops and implements strategies for generating revenues for the company.
• Coordinates development of operating and capital budgets according to the budget calendar, monitors monthly and other financial statements; takes effective corrective action as required.
• Oversees the company operations in ensure production of efficiency, quality service, and cost-effective management of resources.
• Develops company operational procedures, policies and standards.
• Preparation of annual financial budgets in collaboration with the principal.
Sales and Public Relations
• Coordinates public relations requests.
• Works with existing reservation agencies to ensure maximum occupancy in peak periods.
• Establishes and maintains/nurtures local networks that will assist in creating unique experiences.
Property and Capital Asset Management
• Oversees the care and maintenance of all the physical assets and properties.
• Diagnoses maintenance issues and resolves personally or coordinates necessary vendor support; oversees successful remedy.
• Implements capital improvement, furnishings, and equipment plans for guest use.
• Gives direction to and works closely with vendors, outside contractors, and individuals providing services to the properties.
QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Proven general management education and experience.
• Strong experience in the luxury segment of the hospitality industry a plus.
• Consummate team player with strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent knowledge of how facility systems work and capable of diagnosing and repairing.
• Good accounting capability.
• Good computer skills – Word, Excel, and general Windows knowledge.
• Ability to achieve results through others: direct reports, vendors and contract services staff.
• Outstanding organizational skills and detailed-oriented.
• Inspires performance when dealing with staff and “hands-on” when dealing with guests.
• Must be self-directed and self-motivated: always take the initiative.
• Highest standards of honesty, integrity and discretion.
Compensation includes salary commensurate with experience and benefits including medical, dental and life insurance, and 401k. Property located in the Upper Hoback Valley 45 minutes southeast of Jackson Hole. On-site housing is NOW AVAILABLE!
